The information provided below describes, as required by the EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter the “Regulation”), the processing operations performed on the personal data of those who visit the website of the International School of Pharmacology Giampaolo Velo (hereinafter "ISPHAV”) of the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture – EMFCSC.

The website promotes training activities (e.g. workshops, courses, seminars) for those who work in the field of pharmacovigilance, in particular by providing them with a calendar of scheduled events, and enabling users to register and find all the relevant information (e.g. conference proceedings).

The training programme is provided by the University of Verona - Department of Diagnostics and Public Health on behalf of EMFCSC – ISPHAV.

Purposes and legal basis for the processing

The personal data of the website users are processed in order to manage, check and enable the access to the website and the online services made available through the same website (calendar and programmes of activities/events; registration for workshops, courses, seminars; messages to registered participants; download of conference proceedings).

The legal basis of the processing is the fulfilment of contractual or pre-contractual obligations.

The provision of data for the above purposes is not mandatory, but any refusal will result in the User being unable to use the services made available through the website.

Categories of personal data

Browsing data

The information systems and software procedures adopted to operate this website acquire personal data as part of their standard functioning; the transmission of such data is an inherent feature of Internet communication protocols. This data category includes the IP addresses and/or the domain names of the computers and terminal equipment used by any User, the URI/URL (Uniform Resource Identifier/Locator) addresses of the requested resources, the time of such requests, the method used for submitting a given request to the server, and other parameters related to the User's operating system and computer environment.

The following personal data communicated by the users of the website for purposes related to the use of online services as outlined above are also processed:

  • curriculum vitae, scientific activities, job title or institution of affiliation;

Data recipients

Data processed for the above-mentioned purposes will be available to the employees and collaborators assigned to the competent offices of EMFCSC – ISPHAV and the University of Verona, or the natural or legal persons who provide services to EMFCSC – ISPHAV and the University of Verona for the above purposes (e.g. email or cloud computing service providers).

International data transfer

The personal data collected will not be transferred outside the European Union.

Data retention

The collected data will be kept for a period of time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes for which they are processed (“storage limitation principle”, pursuant to Art. 5 of Regulation), or in accordance with the deadlines set by law or regulations.

Rights of data subjects

Data Subjects have the right to obtain from the Data Controller, where appropriate, access to their personal data as well as rectification or erasure of such data or the restriction of the processing concerning them, and to object to the processing (pursuant to Articles 15 and following of the Regulation).

Right to lodge a complaint
